DDP Shipping to the EU, Explained for Resellers
DDP — Delivered Duty Paid — is the term resellers should insist on for first orders.
What it means
The supplier clears customs, pays duties and VAT, and delivers to your warehouse. You receive a box, not a bill.
Why it matters
No customs surprises, predictable landed cost, simpler accounting. The alternative (DDU) leaves you to handle import formalities — fine once you have a team, risky at start.
Trade-off
DDP is usually priced slightly higher to cover the supplier's customs handling. For most resellers the predictability is worth it.
